Division Director Update, March 1
Division D Leaders,
Wow, spring is almost here! There is still time to get those last DCP points to be a Distinguished club.
Remember that club dues are due by the end of March. Encourage your members to pay now so they can get it out of the way. Some of you are already doing this!
Shout out to our Division D clubs:
- 13 clubs completed at least 4 officer training for round 2. Thank you!
- 8 clubs have increased membership so far this year - Good Job!
- 2 clubs have achieved Distinguished: Whole Wheat, Tri-Dynamics
- 1 club has achieved Select Distinguished: Allilanz Toasters
- 7 clubs are on track for Distinguished: Mills Early Risers, Tri-Dynamics, Crosstown Talkers, TicTalkers, Pillsbury, Golden, Park Place
- 3 clubs are in the District Top 10 for education awards: Tri-Dynamics, Speakeasy, and Park Place
Your
Area Director is scheduling club visits to be completed by May. This is
a great opportunity for you to talk about challenges and plans for the
next year.
Below is a summary of key dates
and information for your clubs. Please contact me or your Area Director
if you have any questions.
Key Dates:
- Club Dues - at least 8 members must be paid before 4/1. With the new Pathways system, your members will lose access to Pathways if your club is not in good standing (at least 8 paid members). You must also be in good standing for your club to participate in Area and Division speech contests.
- Toastmaster of the Year (TMOY) nominations are due May 30th. Look back at the year for outstanding member accomplishments to help with submitting your club TMOY to your Area Director.
- Area Speech Contests Coming Soon!
- If you are competing in a contest, be sure to get a passport for the District contest in Thunder Bay.
- We need roles filled for our Area and Division contests. Please contact myself or your Area Director if you can help.
- If you are not competing or helping, come be a part of the audience. Our speakers appreciate the support.
- Area 33 & 34 Speech Contest - March 12, Ridgedale Library
- Area 31 & 32 Speech Contest - March 19 , Ridgedale Library
- Division B and Division D Speech Contests - April 5, Allianz campus
- District 106 - May 3-4, Thunder Bay, Ontario
Keep in Mind:
- Club Coaches - If your club needs or wants a coach, contact your Area Director. There are resources available to help you.
- The District is looking for people to fill Area Director roles for next year. This is the most rewarding role beyond the club level (as professed by many who have done this). It is also the most difficult role to fill because we need so many. If you have any interest or curiosity about leadership beyond the club, or know someone who may be willing, please contact me.
Helpful Info:
- Correction from last month - To remain in good standing next year you will be required to have 8 members.
- To be a Distinguished club next year you are required to submit a Club Success Plan.
- To earn your DTM you are now required to be part of a Club Success Plan.
Area Directors:
- Area 31 - Ollie Stocker
- Area 32 - Dana Vigoren
- Area 33 - David Rasmussen
- Area 34 - Bob Dummer
