Division D December Highlights
Division D Leaders,
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Oh my goodness the year has flown by! We are heading into 2025 in just a few days. It was great to see some of you at the D106 Holiday party, and I hope everyone has an opportunity to relax and spend some quality time over the next couple of weeks.
A shout-out to our Area Director team for getting 100% of the club visits completed by the end of November. I hope their feedback was helpful for you to continue to be successful in your clubs. There is another round of club visit reports in the spring. Take advantage of the opportunity to connect with your Area Director, and ask for help or suggestions.
A special shout out to our clubs for exceptional performance:
- Whole Wheat has already added 5 new members to their club this year!
- Tic Talkers and Allianz Toasters have met 4 of their DCP goals.
- Pillsbury, Tic Talkers, and Building New Hope have added 4 new members.
- Park Place, Tic Talkers, Power Talk, and Tri-Dynamics are half-way to their Magnificent 7 award for officer training
Below is a summary of key dates and information for your clubs. Please contact me or your Area Director if you have any questions.
Key Dates
- Division D COT on 1/28 at the Ridgedale Library
- Division D Speech Contest moved to 4/5, back-to-back with Division B - both at the Allianz campus in Golden Valley.
- Area 33-34 Speech Contest March 12, Ridgedale Library
- Area 31-32 Speech Contest March 19, Ridgedale Library
- District Meeting January 25th - Club Presidents and VPE should attend when possible
Keep in Mind:
- Club Officer Training - There are many training dates for both online and in-person training. There is also a D106 Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) on Jan. 4th that can count for officer training. You need at least 4 officers trained for your club to earn this DCP point.
- Toastmaster of the Year (TMOY) nominations are due early May. Make notes now and throughout the year for outstanding member accomplishments to help with submitting your club TMOY to your Area Director.
- Corporate Clubs - You should have been contacted by Matt Villella about lunchtime training for corporate clubs for spring officer training! If you were not contacted, please reach out to Matt (cc'd above).
- 2025-26 Area Directors - We are starting to recruit for next year's leadership team and are looking for anyone interested in expanding their leadership skills as an Area Director. In my opinion, it is the most rewarding leadership role in Toastmasters! Please contact me, your Area Director, or any of the District Trio if you are interested, or know someone who you think would be a good candidate.
Reminder - Starting in 2025:
- To be a Distinguished club you will be required to submit a Club Success Plan.
- To earn your DTM you are required to be part of a Club Success Plan.
Reminder that the spring speech contest is in-person only, and includes both Tall Tales and International contests. Please send me an invite to your club speech contests. I want to attend as many as possible, and I look forward to seeing you at the Area and Division contests.
Area Directors:
- Area 31 - Ollie Stocker
- Area 32 - Dana Vigoren
- Area 33 - David Rasmussen
- Area 34 - Bob Dummer
