Dues and Contests
Fellow Toastmasters of Area 33,
1. Contests
The area contest is Wednesday evening, October 2. I attended a great club contest held by PowerTalk on Monday evening with three strong speeches. Juliana Hoffman from Crosstown Talkers helped as a contest volunteer. (Thanks, Juliana.) If your club has not held a contest, there is still time before our area 33 contest. If you have held a club contest or appointed a contestant, please let me know.
Area/Division Online Contest Details:
- Per the ballot any 5-7 minute speech is eligible
- The rulebook talks about online contests on page 21
- Area 33 contest, Wednesday, October 2, registration
- Division D contest, Thursday October 10, registration
2. Dues Deadline
To be a club in good standing, 8 paid members are required by September 30. Club dues are due September 30. Most clubs allow members to pay online. To be eligible to participate in the area 33-34 contest, a club must be in good standing on October 1 so that this shows up on reports the next day. PowerTalk and Crosstown Talkers are clubs in good standing. Leadership Summit and Data Park are most of the way to standing as of 9/25/2024. Noontime Talkers hasn't submitted memberships yet.
3. Area Director Club Visits and Reports
- October 2-- Data Park
- November 12-- Crosstown Talkers
I have already visited Noontime Talkers, PowerTalk and Leadership Summit, but will likely visit more times since I am a member of two out of three.
My goal is to try to help your club meet Toastmaster standards and assess where you are so that the district can provide proper resources. If I understand your club success plan and Moments of Truth, I can accurately complete a report on your club.
